Oringone at Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2026

Three days of meetings and innovation in Hamburg
From 20 to 22 October 2026, Oringone took part in the Hydrogen Technology Expo World in Hamburg, together with Fluorten and as part of the Sealcore Network.
Three days dedicated to innovation, discussion and knowledge sharing with companies, engineers and professionals involved in the development of the hydrogen value chain.
The event gave us the opportunity to gain deeper insight into the needs of a constantly evolving market and to present our high-performance O-Rings for hydrogen applications, where material reliability, safety and permeability control are essential requirements.
O-Rings engineered for the challenges of hydrogen
Hydrogen places particularly demanding requirements on sealing systems. The small size of the hydrogen molecule, high operating pressures and challenging application conditions make it essential to select materials capable of ensuring compatibility, resistance and long-term reliability.
During the exhibition, we shared Oringone’s expertise in the development of O-Rings and sealing solutions for hydrogen applications with visitors and industry professionals, based on careful material selection and dedicated testing and validation activities.
Our approach starts with the specific requirements of each application, combining material expertise, engineering and performance validation.
Materials tested for hydrogen applications
One of the key topics presented in Hamburg was our work on the compatibility of elastomer compounds with hydrogen. The materials selected by Oringone were tested by the independent laboratory TÜV SÜD, with dedicated tests designed to evaluate elastomer performance after exposure to hydrogen.
These tests made it possible to assess key parameters including resistance to explosive decompression, dimensional changes and weight loss, confirming the suitability of the compounds analysed for hydrogen applications.
This work is complemented by our research into hydrogen permeability, a fundamental parameter in the design of sealing systems for this sector. Through dedicated testing, we analyse the behaviour of different elastomer compounds and their gas transmission rates, with the aim of identifying the most suitable solution for different operating conditions.
Market dialogue as a driver of innovation
Participating in the Hydrogen Technology World Expo is not only an opportunity to present products and expertise, but above all a chance to engage directly with professionals facing the technical challenges of hydrogen production, storage, transportation and use every day.
The meetings and discussions held during the event are an important source of knowledge for us. Understanding the requirements of real-world applications allows us to continue developing increasingly high performance and application-specific sealing solutions.
The collaboration between Oringone, Fluorten and the companies of the Sealcore Network also enables us to offer the market complementary expertise in materials and sealing technologies, supporting even the most demanding applications.
Thank you for meeting us in Hamburg
We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and shared projects, application requirements and new technical challenges with us. The conversation does not end with the exhibition.
Our team is available to discuss specific applications and identify the most suitable sealing solution for hydrogen systems, from material selection to O-Ring geometry development.
Thank you to Hamburg and to all the professionals who shared these three days dedicated to the future of hydrogen with us.
